Meet Our Staff

Abigail Johnson, APRN, PMHNP-BC, MSN

Abigail is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the American Psychiatric Nurse Association, and the Louisiana Nurse Practitioner Association. 

She began her education at Panola College, receiving her associate's degree in nursing. She later received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She graduated in 2017 from the University of South Alabama with her master's in nursing as a nurse practitioner. She will be completing her doctorate degree at the University of South Alabama in August 2022.

Abigail has worked in various healthcare settings, both psychiatric and medical. As an experienced healthcare provider, Abigail utilizes her eight years of experience to assist her patients in improving their quality of life and decreasing their current symptoms.

Abigail provides medication management and support to help identify the root causes of her patient’s current symptoms. Abigail believes that working together as a team is the best approach to gain successful outcomes for her patients. Her goal is to provide personalized, holistic, and high-quality care. Abigail strives to maintain a safe and relaxed atmosphere for her patients. She is an advocate in providing education to her patients concerning their treatment and diagnosis to make informed decisions concerning their treatment.

Cristina Evans, APRN, PMHNP-BC, MSN

Cristina is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. She is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services across the lifespan. Cristina possesses strong clinical skills enhanced by natural ability to build rapport with patients and families. She follows evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and intuition. As a PMHNP, Cristina’s role is multifaceted, including educator, mental health advocate, and medication provider.

Cristina values interdisciplinary education and inter-professional collaboration for a patient-centered approach to mental healthcare and quality of life. Cristina is always advocating for innovations in healthcare and has special interests in integrating behavioral medicine, trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, and addressing relationship health.

Ellen Grappe, APRN, PMHNP-BC, MSN

Ellen is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Ellen began her education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. During this time, she contributed to research on schizophrenia, treatment-resistant depression, and the effect of adverse childhood experiences on mental health. She went on to complete her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in nursing from Northwestern State University in Louisiana.

Ellen completes psychiatric evaluations to identify root causes of her patients’ symptoms and provides medication management as appropriate. Using evidence-based research, Ellen helps her patients achieve their own goals for mental wellness. Ellen is passionate about understanding her patients’ unique life experiences and providing culturally informed care. Using this team-based approach, Ellen strives to provide the education and tools needed for every patient to succeed in their goals for improved mental health. 

Sarah Rettstatt, APRN, PMHNP-BC, MSN

Sarah is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, she completed an internship as a health coach on a hospital-outpatient transition team. There, she discovered her passion for patient care.  Sarah attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she acquired a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and, four years later, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

Sarah has an extensive clinical background in a variety of settings with experience in medical-surgical nursing, neuroscience, adult psychiatry, and pediatric psychiatry. She believes that authenticity and collaboration are essential components of a therapeutic provider-patient relationship. While licensed to treat people of all ages, Sarah has special interests in working with kids, teens, and young adults. 

Ashley Fell, APRN, PMHNP-BC, MSN

Ashley is a second-generation psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University. 

 

Ashley believes mental health is best addressed using a combination of traditional, functional, and integrative health strategies, focusing on the root cause of the condition.

She utilizes a comprehensive treatment approach that may include medication management, therapy, and complimentary strategies to support the brain and body. Ashley treats all types of mental health conditions, with a special interest in treating ADHD.  Ashley works closely with each client to determine the best solutions for their individual needs and lifestyle. She provides valuable resources, tools, and strategies to help clients achieve a meaningful and lasting recovery. Ashley is committed to providing her clients with the highest-quality care possible, staying up-to-date on the latest evidence-based practices in mental health, and advocating for their needs.
